Our management is responsible for the strategic direction and development of Capita Life & Pensions.
Management members can look back on many years of experience in the field of life & pensions and have successfully demonstrated their expertise in the insurance industry. The following key members of our executive team are responsible for managing existing clients and growing our business.
Jim became Executive Director of our Insurance & Benefits Services division in December 2014, having previously been Executive Director of the Health & Wellbeing division. He joined Capita in July 2012, initially leading Entrust, Capita’s joint venture with Staffordshire County Council, which provides a wide range of education support services. He has a strong background in designing and delivering major change programmes across a variety of areas, primarily the banking sector. He now leads our Life, Pensions & Insurance Services portfolio.
Previously, he was a member of the UK Executive Board of Steria, with responsibility for government, health and education services. He also led a number of Business Process Outsourcing/ IT joint ventures as Managing Director of NHS Shared Business Service and Executive Director of Barclays' Xansa Partnership.
Nigel joined Capita in 2006 and is Managing Director for our Insurance Services business.
His role involves the management of teams both on and off-shore and responsibility for the contractual and relationship management of the clients in his portfolio. He is an approved person for the FCA and regulators in Ireland and Isle of Man, working within the professional services sector to build credible outsourcing solutions, and has a track record of consistent, high-quality delivery.
Additionally, Nigel is Vice President of the Institute of Customer Services and is tasked with acting as the sounding board for new initiatives and offering advice to advance the growth, reputation and profile of the Institute through his expertise and network.
Prior to joining Capita in 2006, Nigel was Operations Director for Vertex Financial Services for eight years.
He has been a senior assessor for the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) and was also Head of Customer Services Division for National Westminster Life Assurance Co Ltd for six years.
Tony is Managing Director of our Life, Pensions and Specialist Services businesses. He leads our accounts with Prudential, Royal London, Royal London (CIS), Sun Life/Friends Life, Abbey Life, Phoenix, Guardian and Specialist Professional Services, and brings with him a wealth of experience. His role involves the management of teams across the UK, Ireland and India, and he has relationship and contractual responsibility for the clients within his portfolio.
Stuart has over 25 years experience in the Life and Pensions and General Insurance industries. With the responsibility for Capita's next generation of service propositions, Stuart works closely with our 'best of breed' technology partners to develop compelling end-to-end digital products and services that improve customer engagement, retention and satisfaction.
Previously, Stuart worked for Ernst & Young in their advisory practice, where he developed and delivered services targeted at driving down operational costs and delivering increased value from in-force business.
He also has experience of working on international assignments for leading global insurers in Australasia, South Africa and the US.
In his role, Sean oversees a team responsible for business development and transformation, client management, operations, service delivery, financial and actuarial reporting, investment administration, product development and implementation, IT development, regulatory change and a full range of risk assurance functions.
As a strategic outsourcing business leader with close to 35 years’ relevant experience, Sean is responsible for leading our delivery of professional and business processing services to our valued international life assurance clients, including Prudential International, St James’s Place International, Zurich International, MetLife, Harcourt Life, and Hawthorn Life.
Michael is the Managing Director European Life Insurance and an accomplished Senior Executive in both Industry and Transformational Consulting & Outsourcing.
During his time in industry, Michael has held various functions, including CFO of a global business unit, while his consulting and outsourcing experience lies in the successful transformation of operating models that focus on financial services, particularly in Germany and Switzerland.
Mark has extensive experience in operational and client management, and has spent over 20 years working in Finance Services. Mark joined Capita in 2004 and has held various positions in Operations, Account Management and Business Development.
Mark is currently Managing Director for our Multi-Client and Digital Protection business. He has response for the management and growth of our Multi-Client BPO and Digital Protection operations.
Prior to joining Capita he held management positions with Zurich, Nationwide Building Society and HBOS plc. His experience in Financial Services covers Life and Pensions, Banking and Mortgages.
In his role, Ciaran is playing a key role in building an existing foothold in Dubai. The requirement was for a full policy and fund administration service (delivered from Dublin and Dubai) including delivery of the Capita proprietary system which enabled straight through processing for all distributions and self service options for policy holders.
During his first two years at Capita he has helped lead Capita Life and Pensions Ireland to two new contracts. Interestingly, the first was a Fund Administration contract, which was delivered on time and on budget, including a migration from the previous BPO provider. It is a cloud-hosted service which may have been a first for the industry.
